The Kanchipuram yellow and black silk saree is an exclusive bridal design that has been hand weaved to precision with the expert craftsmanship of our weavers. The saree is embellished with pattu pettu borders using the korvai technique where the silk thread borders are woven separately and attached to the lustrous body of the saree at a later point. The korvai technique of weaving has been in practice for a long period in the history of Kanchipuram silk sarees. The contrasting black borders on either side of the body of the saree are highlighted in gold and pink detailing using peacock and floral motifs. The usage of geometric patterns around the main motifs in the borders has always been an additional element that adds to the intricacy of the weave. The contrasting black pallu of the saree is heavily detailed with gold design patterns elevating the look of the saree. The drape is matched perfectly with a contrasting plain black Kanchi silk blouse fabric carrying the saree border on one side. The alluring color combination of yellow and black is so impressive and reminds us of honey bees which symbolize ethical virtues such as purity, creativity, sociability, wisdom, and diligence.
