Pure zari is made with a silver core, coated in real gold. Tested zari replaces silver with copper. The simplest test: burn a small thread — pure zari leaves a silver-white ash; tested zari leaves a reddish residue. Our sarees use only pure zari.

Yes — if cared for correctly. The density of the silk weave means it does not thin with wear. Wash only with mild cold water, dry in shade, store wrapped in muslin or cotton (not plastic), and air it every six months.

Korvai refers to the technique of interlocking the body and border with separate wefts so the colours stay sharp. Butta are the small woven motifs scattered across the body — temple elephants, mangoes, paisleys. Vairaoosi is the diamond-twill weave pattern that gives certain sarees their characteristic diagonal shimmer.

A single saree takes one weaver 22–30 days. The silk is pure mulberry filature, the zari is real gold-coated silver, and the entire process — from yarn sourcing to final inspection — is done by hand. No power looms are used.

Dry clean for the first few washes. If hand-washing, use cold water and a capful of mild shampoo — never detergent. Do not wring; press the water out gently. Dry flat in shade. Fold with the zari face inwards and store in a breathable cotton bag.
