Peacock blue kanchi silk saree

A vivid peacock blue lightweight Kanjivaram in pure mulberry silk — bold in colour, elegant in execution. The cerulean ground is intensely saturated, shifting between bright blue and teal in changing light with the restless luminosity that only pure silk can produce in this colour family. It is a colour that commands immediate attention while carrying deep cultural resonance — peacock blue in the Kanjivaram tradition is inseparable from Lord Murugan, the Tamil deity whose vahana gives this colour its name.

What distinguishes this saree immediately is its silver zari — a considered departure from the conventional gold, the silver buttas against the peacock blue ground create a cooler, crisper luminosity, each butti catching light like a drop of water on silk. The seer pallu carries graduated horizontal bands of silver zari chain-link pattern building in density toward the hem, with the pallu ground shifting into a slightly deeper blue register that adds a subtle tonal dimension to the trailing edge.
